7 Things That Are About 30 Meters (m) Long

Getting the length of stuff is a task that seems easy on the surface but really isn’t.

Different items have different lengths. And even things in the same body have different lengths.

For instance, all parts of the human body do not have the same lengths. Hands are longer than arms and the length differs from person to person.

Our interest in this piece is items that are 30 meters long. If this sounds like something you’re interested in, join me on this journey by staying tuned till the end!

1. World’s Longest Bus

AutoTram Extra Grand 2013.JPG

Recently, China introduced a bus that is insanely long. It was 82 feet long and attracted a lot of attention.

Dresden went one step further and launched a 90-foot-long bus (30 meters) named the Autotram Extra Grand. The new bus can accommodate up to 256 passengers.

Additionally, it is not a prototype and can actually be driven by a bus driver through the city streets without requiring any special license.

There is an exclusive computerized steering system designed specifically for the bus. Fraunhofer researchers are pleased with the launch of the bus in Dresden. According to them, it won’t cause traffic jams.

2. 30 Adult Walking Steps

For kids the strides per step might measure less, which is why the focus is specifically on Adult legs.

With every step an adult takes, the legs span wide as long as 1 meter. This could be longer in the case of tall individuals.

It follows that taking 30 strides of the same length accounts for a length of 30 meters. Why don’t you try out an exciting exercise by walking through the garden for 30 calculated steps?

The length from beginning to end of the distance walked should be exactly 30 meters.

3. Two volleyball courts

A volleyball game consists of two teams of six players separated by a net. There are fixed rules for grounding the ball on the opponent’s court to score points.

It has been an official event at the Summer Olympics since 1964 in Tokyo. Atlanta 1996 saw the introduction of beach volleyball to the Olympics. Volleyball is played as a sitting game during the Summer Paralympic Games.

Volleyball courts measure 9 m x 15 m and have a net that measures 39.4 in wide. Women’s net height is 2.24 m compared to 2.43 m for men. Veteran and junior net heights vary.

In an indoor volleyball court, the minimum height clearance is 7 m (although 8 m clearance is recommended). If one court is 15 meters long, then two courts will be exactly 30 meters.

4. 30 Meters Telecommunications Pole

A telecommunications pole supports overhead power lines and a variety of other public utilities including electrical cable, fiber optic cable, transformers, street lights, and other equipment.

Depending on its application, a transmission pole can be referred to as a telephone pole, telecommunication pole, power pole, hydro pole, telegraph pole, or telegraph post.

Stobie poles are made of two steel joists separated by a concrete slab in the middle, and are generally found in South Australia.

Electric cables and wires are routed overhead on telecommunication poles to keep them insulated from the ground and out of the way of people and vehicles.

Wood, metal, concrete, and composites like fiberglass can be used as utility poles. Most telecommunication poles do not have a uniform height.

They are usually around 2.8 meters long in residential areas and 30 meters above in great areas.

5. Semi-Tractor Trailer

Semi-tractor-trailer trucks, also known as semi-tractor trucks, semi-tractor-trailers, or tractor-trailers, are a combination of a tractor unit and one or more semi-trailers used to haul freight. A semi-trailer is connected to a tractor by a fifth-wheel hitch.

Transportation truck, trailer truck, tractor truck, transfer truck, articulated lorry (UK), single truck, tractor-trailer, semi-tractor, semi, trailer, tractor, big rig, eighteen wheeler, juggernaut are all terms used for it.

The length of Semi-tractor trailers differs in different countries between 16 meters and 56 meters. However, our target of 30 meters falls within this range.

6. Three Saloon Cars

If you have trouble parking your car, a saloon car is not the best choice.

As they usually have a self-contained boot, they are longer than most hatchbacks, and can be more difficult to maneuver – especially if they do not have parking sensors.

Saloon cars’ popularity has declined in recent years, however, because the popularity of SUVs and the practicality of hatchbacks have overtaken their elegance and style.

Some saloon cars reach a length of 10 meters. If three of these were to be parked end to end, they would add up to about 30 meters in length depending on the brand.

7. Three Garage Doors

A garage door is a large door in a garage that can be manually or electrically operated. Garage doors are often large enough to accommodate automobiles and other vehicles.

You can build a small garage door with a single panel that tilts up and down across the garage ceiling.

A garage door is usually made up of several panels that roll up on tracks across the ceiling or into a roll over the doorway.

To reduce the human or motor effort required to operate the door, the mechanism is spring-loaded or counterbalanced to offset the weight of the door.

Horizontal garage doors are less common. A door can be made out of wood, metal, or fiberglass, and may be insulated to prevent heat from escaping.

Large doors are used in warehouses, bus garages, and locomotive sheds. Garage doors are usually around 10 meters long, so three garage doors add up to a length of 30 meters.
